Huxley Golf Helps Create 'The Ultimate Indoor Golf Experience'

World leader in all-weather golf surfaces, Huxley Golf, was delighted to be asked to help equip a new state-of-the-art indoor golf centre recently.

Pro Shot Golf Club in Milton Keynes offers experienced and novice golfers the opportunity to ‘travel around the world’ and play on over 90 iconic courses (including Gleneagles’ PGA Centenary Course, Palm Beach’s PGA National Golf Course and Royal Melbourne Golf Club) via high specification simulators. Customised coaching and fitting services are also offered.

Huxley Golf equipped each of the 9ft (2.7m) x 15ft (4.6m) simulator bays with its tournament quality Premier Putting Turf, finished with 20mm Premier Leisure Turf surrounds. The company’s distributor Bob Cheetham oversaw the project.

Pro Shot Golf Club Founder, Stephen Campbell, evolved the idea of bringing the golf course indoors as a result of his own frustrations as a golfer, often finding that time and weather restrictions were preventing him from playing regularly. He said: “For many years, I called myself a golfer but the reality was that I never actually had an opportunity to play. Even when family and work commitments didn’t hamper my chances of getting out on the course, the weather almost certainly did, and I know I’m not alone in this.”

He continued: “I believe that golf should be accessible to everyone but I found that it's often the case that the game comes first and the customer has to fit in with it; the total opposite of the values that I believe in. The golfing industry needs to better understand and respond to customer needs and that’s why I set out to create the ultimate indoor golf experience."
