Scottish Golf Union
The game of golf is one of Scotland's greatest assets. The Scottish Golf Union, based at St Andrews, is the governing body for amateur golf in Scotland incorporating more than 630 golf clubs across the country representing a total membership of approximately 260,000 golfers. A national icon, thousands of golfers from across the world descend upon Scotland each year to take up the challenge of some of the world's most famous courses and some of the game's finest hidden gems.
Huxley Golf was approached by the Scottish Golf Union in the spring of 2009 to help solve the lack of quality putting surfaces for the squad members. In consultation with the Scottish Golf Union coaches and staff, Huxley Golf supplied and installed all-weather greens at two regional centres along with indoor greens at all the regional centres. Scottish Golf Union coaches have reported that, as a result, the squad players have shown signs of improvement with their stats.
