Huxley Golf's All Weather Artificial Turf Pathway makes an impact at Carnoustie Golf Links
"Golfers preferred to walk on the grass beside the path, resulting in unsightly wear and tear," explained links superintendent, John Philp. "Those who did walk on the path often carried shell material onto the surrounding areas, causing problems for mowing equipment. We needed an attractive, low maintenance solution and turned to Huxley Golf."
Advice on suitable material specification and installation requirements was provided to Carnoustie Golf Links by Huxley Golf's Scottish area manager, Hugh Fraser. Having successfully completed the new pathway on the eighth hole, Carnoustie has subsequently installed additional all-weather material on the step-off points from two bridges which cross the Barry Burn dividing the first tee and fairway on the Championship Course. Material has also been installed on the standing area beside the first tee.
"All in all, we are very pleased with the improvements brought about by Huxley Golf's all-weather golf surfaces," commented John Philp. "The material is easy to lay and good both to look at and walk on, while requiring minimal maintenance. It is certainly appreciated by the many golfers from around the world who visit Carnoustie Links throughout the year."
